19TH C. MARBLE CHINESE BUDDHA HEAD

Unfortunately these days, you see many crappy knockoffs of heads like this, sold by unscrupulous Chinese dealers such as on eBay (where 99% of the "antiques" are fake).  This is the real thing, and was actually given to me as a gift quite a few years ago by a good Chinese friend from Shanghai.  I am gradually deacquisitioning some things from our own collection, and this is one of them.  The head itself is 7 inches tall, and with the custom stand I had made, 10 1/2 inches.  This head has sat on my desk, and currently resides on a bookcase at home.
